NPR Discovers 'Security' Gates Displace Palestinians… Again

This framing, however, meticulously avoids mentioning that such 'security' measures are a hallmark of Israel's 57-year occupation, a strategy deployed repeatedly since 1967. These aren't new tactics; they're the same old policies of land grab
and movement restriction, rebranded for the morning news. One might wonder if the US provides financial aid to facilitate these 'disruptions.' Indeed, the US provides over $3.8 billion annually in military aid to Israel, a significant portion of which indirectly supports the infrastructure of occupation. Perhaps these gates are just 'security' enhancements, as presented, much like the bulldozers
that destroy Palestinian homes are merely 'urban planning' tools. How many 'security' gates does it take before we call it what it is: effective apartheid on steroids?
