One can only assume "historic peace deal" is code for the U.S. normalization push with Saudi Arabia that strategically ignored the core issue of Palestinian rights, a strategy that, coincidentally,
preceded an unprecedented escalation of conflict. Perhaps the Nobel Committee understands that applying lipstick to a pig doesn't make it a unicorn. The idea that Trump brokered 'peace' between Hamas and Israel is a narrative so detached from reality it belongs in a political thriller. The 'deal' was a series of agreements between Israel and Arab states, largely bypass-ing Palestinians and
effectively eroding their leverage. These were not peace deals; they were strategic alliances, and in the case of Hamas, merely a cessation of hostilities in exchange for Qatari cash—a temporary truce, not a resolution. To call it a 'peace deal' in the context of the region's current devastation is an exercise in Orwellian audacity.
