channels praise, the inconvenient reality involves countless lives lost, the rise of ISIS, and a nation still reeling from two decades of foreign intervention. It appears that for certain media outlets, the concept of a 'tribute' can be quite flexible, encompassing events that most sane observers would label 'war crimes' or, at minimum, 'cataclysmic foreign policy failures.' Perhaps the tribute is
in the form of a 'shock and awe' historical revisionism, where the destroyed become the grateful. How many shattered nations does it take before we question the validity of such 'tributes' from the very people still living through the consequences?
