For example, did their November reporting connect Raytheon's Q3 2023 earnings call, where CEO Greg Hayes touted a $3.3 billion quarterly profit, with
potential for 'future growth' from 'geopolitical instability,' to the very instability that tanks economies elsewhere? The 'business cycle' for defense contractors sure looks different when it's powered by human suffering. One might wonder if the same heartfelt concern extends to the millions in Gaza facing absolute destitution and starvation, a humanitarian catastrophe not of economic downturn
but direct military action, much of it enabled by US aid. But don't worry, defense contractor CEOs aren't on any layoff lists. Their 'essential services' are always in 'high demand' when the empire is busy 'maintaining stability' (read: bombing). How many workers lost wages so Raytheon could book another record quarter?
