When Maduro
rallies citizens, it's 'defiant'; when US leaders push for regime change, it's 'democracy promotion.' One might wonder if 'defiance' is only an issue when a leader isn't towing the Washington line. The narrative frames Venezuela as the aggressor, not the target of relentless, decades-long destabilization efforts by the US. How many times can the 'threat to democracy' be invoked before we ask:
