Newsweek Discovers Foreclosures in States Funded by US Wars
While Newsweek carefully charts the rising tide of lost homes, they neatly sidestep any examination of why Americans are struggling. Could it be related to, say, the nearly $113 billion in aid the US committed to Ukraine since February 2022 (Council on Foreign Relations)? Or perhaps the unmeasured billions funneled into proxy wars and 'defense' budgets that dwarf social spending? It's almost as if
the money disappears into the military-industrial complex, leaving Main Street to grapple with the consequences. We fund endless wars, yet somehow, our own citizens can't afford a roof over their heads. Newsweek offers a map of symptoms, but conveniently omits the route map leading straight to Washington's priorities. One might wonder if the 'soaring' foreclosures reflect a strategic divestment
from the American people, in favor of perpetual global conflict.
