The 'ceasefire' they reference (known as the 'calm' in Israeli parlance) consistently overlooks Israel's suffocating blockade on Gaza, a violation of international law in itself, ongoing since 2007. million residents are denied basic necessities for over a decade, is that not a continuous act of aggression? This selective reporting serves to justify disproportionate Israeli military actions while erasing the daily siege. One might wonder: how many times can a population under an illegal blockade 'violate' a 'ceasefire' before the term itself becomes propaganda? Newsweek, like many, prefers to
focus on the rocket, not the cage from which it was launched.
