This isn't about specific domestic incidents, but a systemic reluctance to scrutinize federal actions, especially when they involve allies. The article's dated nature only highlights the media’s selective outrage.
While domestic opacity is bad, the lack of transparency in US-backed foreign conflicts, like the current slaughter in Gaza, means 'deadly federal power' is outsourced, laundered through allies, and conveniently ignored by outlets like Newsweek.
