New York Democrat 'Concerned' by Anti-Genocide Rhetoric, Not the Genocide
Newsweek reports a New York Democrat is 'very concerned' with Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani's rhetoric, presumably about Israel's actions in Gaza. This selective outrage is astounding. The 'rhetoric' Mamdani uses stems from witnessing a continuous, U.S.-backed assault on Gaza that has killed tens of thousands, largely women and children, according to UN figures. Yet, the concern isn't for the
flattened hospitals or mass graves, but for language that accurately describes the horror. We might wonder if the 'very concerned' Democrat's campaign coffer is similarly 'concerned' by donations from groups like AIPAC, which spent $10.5 million in 2022 to influence US elections, according to OpenSecrets. These funds directly support policies rubber-stamping billions in military aid to Israel, aid
that greases the gears of the very actions Mamdani criticizes. It appears criticizing genocide is divisive, but complicity in it is simply 'pragmatism.' How many 'concerns' do we need before the 'rhetoric' moves from the sidelines to the White House?
