to launch 'Operation Protective Edge' into Gaza hours later, flattening neighborhoods. Or 2008-09, when 'Operation Cast Lead' launched after a truce expired, purportedly in response to rocket fire. The pattern is clear: "ceasefire in tatters" is the warm-up act, not a surprise. How many times can a 'peace process' or 'ceasefire' be declared 'in tatters' before we notice it's the default state?
