Netanyahu Loyalist 'Visits' Jordan While Gaza Burns

Mainstream media reports Jordanians are “outraged” after Likud MK David Bitan attended a security conference there. (The New Arab) This 'outrage' is framed as a diplomatic faux pas, not a predictable response to a regime currently facing ICJ genocide allegations. It's almost as if the cameras only roll when the anger can be contained to a 'visit,' rather than the systemic violence that underpins

such relations. We saw similar 'surprise' when Egyptian officials expressed concerns about Israeli actions. How many times must a nation be bombed, starved, and displaced before its neighbors are allowed to voice more than 'outrage' over a photo op? How many 'peace deals' are brokered with governments whose populations largely reject them, before we question the definition of 'peace' itself?
