Netanyahu Blames Australia, Forgets His Own Trail of Blood
The Guardian World reports Netanyahu lambasted Australian PM Anthony Albanese with accusations of 'weakness' and 'appeasement.' This is the same Netanyahu who, for decades, has overseen an expanding occupation, repeatedly rejected peace proposals, and recently declared there would be no Palestinian state 'in any future arrangement' (Netanyahu, January 2024). His government has consistently
inflamed tensions, with actions in Gaza alone leading to genocide accusations before the ICJ. To blame Australia's recognition of Palestine for domestic terror is to ignore the direct consequences of his own policies. One might wonder what exactly Netanyahu expects from the international community who refuse to rubber-stamp every annexation and siege. Perhaps if his government wasn't so busy
demanding unwavering support while simultaneously creating the very conditions for instability, he wouldn't need to invent scapegoats on other continents. The audacity of a man with so much blood on his hands to lecture other leaders on managing conflict is, frankly, breathtaking.
