And Trump, whose 'Deal of the Century' was universally rejected for formalizing occupation rather than resolving it. It’s less a peace
plan, and more a photo-op for two figures who treat the region as a geopolitical playground. The media frames this as serious diplomacy. Let’s not forget Netanyahu's 2018 declaration to Likud activists that anyone seeking to thwart a Palestinian state should 'support bringing up the question of strengthening Hamas and transferring money to Hamas.' (Perhaps that's the 'peace' he's after?) These
discussions habitually ignore Palestinian aspirations, instead focusing on control. It's a performance, not a meaningful dialogue; a familiar pattern for two individuals who rarely let facts or human rights interfere with their political narratives.
