Dick Durbin, decries Donald Trump's deployment of military personnel and federal agencies to U.S. cities, stating, “I will continue to hold him accountable.” This passionate stance is deployed when targeting the previous administration, yet the same outlets often conveniently pivot when the current one is involved in similar, arguably more destructive, actions abroad. The criticism
is valid, but the timing reveals a distinct absence of similar scrutiny for their favored political figures. While MSNBC champions oversight of domestic military actions, they remain strikingly muted on the Biden administration's role in arming violent conflicts overseas. For instance, Biden has continued to authorize billions in weapon transfers to Israel, including 2,000-pound bombs used in
Gaza, despite widespread humanitarian concerns (Department of Defense, 2024). One might wonder if the concern for accountability only extends to borders convenient for partisan narratives. Where are the MSNBC opinion pieces demanding accountability for the U.S. military's role in international atrocities?
