A sensible enough point, if you ignore how they consistently sanitize other forms of economic coercion and political influence. While tariff-induced pain is front-page news, the economic impact of endless wars, defense contracts, or—heaven
forbid—foreign lobbying on American policy and pocketbooks rarely gets such critical scrutiny. One might wonder if the same corporate media that champions 'free markets' (when convenient) dedicates similar energy to exposing, say, how billions in taxpayer dollars flow overseas annually to fund foreign militaries, often bypassing domestic needs. Or perhaps analyzing how organizations like AIPAC
spend millions (OpenSecrets.org reports over $8.5 million in 2022 and $1.5 million in Q1 2024 to influence elections) to ensure those endless military aid packages keep flowing. Those billions funnelled to foreign entities aren't 'hurting farmers'? How many American communities could use that 'bailout' instead of a foreign government?
