(Apparently, nobody told them federal law is, you know, federal .) These are the same progressive voices who often champion robust federal intervention in other arenas, but suddenly remember states' rights when it involves immigration enforcement
they deem inconvenient. One might recall that the very concept of immigration enforcement itself is a federal domain, established long before Minneapolis decided it was time to issue cease-and-desist letters to Washington. The hypocrisy isn't that they dislike ICE; it's that they expect the federal government to respect local autonomy only when it aligns perfectly with their policy preferences,
otherwise, it's 'not enough' federal funding or 'lack of national leadership.' Convenient much?
