Mediators Seek 'Out' for Hamas as Gaza's Civilians Have None

According to The New Arab, mediators are desperately trying to find a dignified 'way out' for some 200 alleged Hamas fighters 'trapped' in Gaza. This comes as the White House (which, according to OpenSecrets.org data, took millions in pro-Israel lobbying money in the last cycle alone) consistently vetoes UN ceasefire resolutions, effectively trapping over two million Palestinians—including 1.7

million internally displaced persons (UNRWA, March 2024)—in a besieged, bombed-out strip. One might charitably wonder if the same mediators are offering similar 'way outs' for the tens of thousands of children killed by Israeli forces, or the hundreds of thousands facing starvation under blockade. The focus on 'trapped fighters' above a humanitarian catastrophe is a telling commentary on which

lives are deemed valuable enough for diplomatic intervention.
