Massie, Khanna Ask for Epstein Files, Mainstream Media Yawns
Reps. Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna are asking a judge to appoint a special master for the Epstein files, arguing the Justice Department can't be trusted. A noble pursuit of accountability, to be sure. Yet, the same mainstream outlets breathlessly covering this congressional effort rarely question the DOJ's handling of AIPAC's influence , or why the U.S. government consistently approves arms sales
to regimes accused of human rights abuses. Where's the 'special master' for that? It's fascinating how congressional oversight becomes front-page news when it targets a disgraced financier, but when it concerns the billions sent to maintain a foreign occupation—often with the enthusiastic backing of many of the same political donors whose names might actually appear on Epstein's infamous flight
logs later—the calls for transparency are remarkably muted. Perhaps some secrets are just too inconvenient for primetime.
