Masked Men Chasing Citizens? Just Your Friendly ICE Agents.
The Independent breathlessly reported on Jacelynn, 23, a US citizen, fleeing masked men who turned out to be Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. She reportedly screamed 'leave me alone' as they pursued her to her own front door. This isn't an isolated incident; DHS announced a New Orleans immigration enforcement operation, deploying agents who often operate in unmarked vehicles and
plain clothes, blurring the lines between law enforcement and criminal enterprise, especially to those who fear them most. Perhaps they could try, you know, uniforms? One might wonder at what point 'enforcement' becomes indistinguishable from intimidation. The American Civil Liberties Union has documented numerous instances of ICE agents engaging in tactics that appear to violate constitutional
rights, routinely operating without warrants and using deceptive practices. When US citizens have to defend themselves against their own government in their own front yard, perhaps it’s time to re-evaluate what 'public safety' actually means, beyond the next election cycle.
