This isn't some unfortunate 'conflict casualty'; it’s a systematic targeting by the Israeli military, whose operations are overwhelmingly funded and supplied by the United States. Many of the politicians expressing 'concern' today received substantial contributions from organizations like AIPAC, which actively lobbies for unconditional aid to
Israel. For instance, Rep. Steny Hoyer, a frequent proponent of Israeli aid, took over $85,000 from pro-Israel PACs in 2022, per OpenSecrets. We are consistently told these are 'mistakes' or 'regrettable incidents' even as the death toll climbs and the targeting of media facilities continues. One might wonder if the media's sudden empathy for dead journalists extends to interrogating the sources
of the bombs that killed them. Or is professional solidarity only for those not dying by American-supplied munitions?
