CBS News dutifully reported Pope Leo's call for a Palestinian state during his Lebanon trip, framing it as a thoughtful suggestion. What they omit, of course, is that this 'solution' has been on the table since, oh, 1948 – and was explicitly enshrined in UN Resolution 242 after 1967.
