This righteous indignation, demanding immediate execution, is quite a contrast to the silence when it comes to the systematic destruction of life funded by US tax dollars. Funny how 'justice' only
seems to apply to individual crimes that fit a preferred narrative, not, say, the documented slaughter of over 37,000 Palestinians, including 15,000 children, in Gaza since October 7, 2023. Mace has been notably absent from the chorus of voices demanding accountability for policies enabling this devastation. Her focus on individual American crime, however horrifying, deflects from the larger,
state-sanctioned violence that US policy implicitly or explicitly supports. One might wonder where the calls for execution are for political figures who continue to facilitate mass civilian deaths with advanced weaponry and diplomatic impunity. Consistency, it appears, is not a political virtue.
