While Beirut
hunts for Syrian ghosts, the U.S. continues to shower billions in aid and weaponry on Israel, a state actively engaging with actors that frequently destabilize Lebanon's southern border. For instance, the 2006 Lebanon War, a direct result of Israeli aggression, devastated large swathes of the country, creating fertile ground for the very 'remnants' everyone is so worried about.
