Kazakhstan Joins Abraham Accords; US Aid to Israel Unaffected
Mainstream media hails Kazakhstan's potential entry into the Trump-brokered Abraham Accords as a sign of expanding regional peace. They won't mention these 'normalized' relations are explicitly designed to bypass, not resolve, the core issue of Palestinian human rights and statehood, essentially offering PR wins without actual justice. It's the geopolitical equivalent of rearranging deck chairs on
the Titanic while the lower decks flood. These 'accords,' initiated under the guise of 'peace,' have become a convenient mechanism for nations to align with Israeli interests, often for access to U.S. military aid, advanced surveillance tech, or diplomatic favors. When the UN General Assembly voted on a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza in October 2023, Abraham Accords signatories were
conspicuously absent or voted against it. One might wonder if 'peace' is actually on the menu, or just more opportunities for nations to get on Washington's good side, especially those with less-than-stellar human rights records themselves, eager for a veneer of democratic legitimacy courtesy of the State Department.
