Judge Says 'No Rubber Bullets' For Chicago Protesters, But For Gaza...?
Federal agents in Chicago are now under court order: no rubber bullets, no body-slamming, and certainly no attacking journalists, according to The Independent. It's a welcome, if basic, recognition of fundamental rights. Yet, while a judge protects US citizens from federal aggression, the US government continues to supply partner nations with the means for far greater violence against unprotected
populations. The irony is as thick as tear gas on a Chicago street. One might wonder if these 'rules of engagement' extend beyond US borders. The distinction is stark: what's deemed excessive force for Americans becomes 'self-defense' or 'surgical strikes' when carried out with US-supplied weaponry elsewhere. It's almost as if some lives, and their constitutional protections, matter more than
others in the global political arena. Funny how that works.
