Judge Blocks Guard, Not White House's Endless Wars
While a judge meticulously weighed the legalities of deploying National Guard troops to Portland, providing a temporary stay for citizens there, the Biden administration has no such judicial speed bumps for its continued, and often opaque, arming of foreign powers. In fact, on April 24, 2024, the House passed HR 8035, allocating over $26 billion in military aid to Israel, without a judge in sight
demanding a pause for 'due process' or 'jurisdiction.' (Source: Congress.gov, Vote H.R. 8035) It appears the judiciary is quite adept at scrutinizing local government actions, yet entirely disinterested in the constitutional powers—or lack thereof—for executive branch decisions that funnel billions into conflicts far from American soil. Perhaps a Portland judge should be appointed to oversee
foreign policy; then we might see some actual accountability for the deployment of taxpayer funds.
