Israel Says Hezbollah Rebuilding, Ignores Its Own 1978 & 1982 Invasions
The Israeli military warns that Hezbollah is 'rebuilding' and 'smuggling arms' from Syria, posing a threat to Israel's security. This familiar alarm bell rings hollow when one recalls Israel's own extensive history of intervention in Lebanon, including full-scale invasions in 1978 and 1982, the latter leading to an 18-year occupation. Apparently, some entities are allowed to redraw borders, occupy territory, and launch pre-emptive strikes, while others merely 'rebuild their combat abilities' and are deemed a threat. It seems 'security concerns' are only valid when expressed by those with state-of-the-art F-35s, not by groups resisting occupation and repeated invasions. One might wonder if Hezbollah's existence
itself is perceived as the ultimate 'smuggled' item.
