The outlet notes the group is denounced by many Palestinians, including Abu Shabab's own family, as 'tools of the Israeli military.' One might ponder the effectiveness of a 'militia' whose own community brands them as collaborators, and
whose leader falls in an internal conflict while under the supposed protection of a foreign power. (Did Mossad just 'overlook' this dispute, or was it simply cheaper than a bonus payout?) This isn't a 'dispute'; it's the inevitable implosion of a discredited proxy force. The historical playbook for occupying forces propping up local 'security' elements against indigenous resistance is rife with
