When pundits drone about 'secure borders' for Israel, they conveniently forget its original borders were deliberately ill-defined and have since been stretched and redrawn by force. Think 1948 and the displacement of 750,000 Palestinians , or 1967 and the occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, Golan Heights, and Sinai. This isn't just a 'border eraser'; it's a persistent, well-funded territorial
acquisition strategy, lubricated by consistent, unquestioning US financial and diplomatic support. While media outlets present a new 'crisis' every few years, the pattern is eerily consistent: expansion, displacement, and a refusal to acknowledge the international boundaries they themselves agreed to, or that the UN proposed. Perhaps if our elected officials, many of whom receive significant
contributions from groups like AIPAC (like Rep. Steny Hoyer, who received $10,000 in 2022 ), prioritized international law over lobbying dollars, the map might actually reflect reality, not just ambition.
