Meanwhile, back in Washington, powerful foreign lobbying groups openly funnel millions into political campaigns, effectively buying influence over US foreign policy without a whimper of 'security offense.' Case in point: AIPAC alone spent
$4.4 million on lobbying in 2023 and $12.3 million on federal elections , largely influencing votes for substantial military aid to Israel. So, one nation frets over an alleged spy, while another allows its own legislative body to be openly swayed by declared foreign interests. The 'security' concern, it seems, is less about integrity and more about whose influence is being exerted, and for whose
ultimate profit. One might wonder who the real foreign agents are.
