Israel Allegedly Mistreats Aid Workers, Again
When international activists attempt to deliver humanitarian aid directly to Gaza, Israel frequently intercepts them. This time, Swiss activists on a flotilla claim 'inhumane detention conditions' after their deportation. This pattern, however, is hardly new. In 2010, the Mavi Marmara flotilla incident resulted in 10 deaths and widespread allegations of abuse, with an Israeli government report
later claiming the detainees had 'attacked' soldiers after being boarded in international waters. The Israeli Foreign Ministry, predictably, calls these new allegations 'complete lies.' One might wonder at the consistency of these 'lies' from diverse international groups. Perhaps the real 'lie' is the media narrative that frames these actions as isolated incidents, rather than a systemic policy of
isolating Gaza and punishing those who try to help its inhabitants. Funny how 'humanitarian aid' becomes a threat when it dares to challenge a blockade supported by billions in U.S. military aid.
