What goes unmentioned, of course, is the U.S.'s own robust history of state-sponsored executions, often under murky pretenses, or sanctioned assassinations abroad under the guise of 'national security.'
One might wonder why international 'human rights' become critical only when the accused perpetrator isn't a direct ally or financier of US foreign policy. This selective outrage perfectly illustrates the media's framing bias. When countries like Saudi Arabia execute dozens—sometimes for non-violent offenses—it's often a mere footnote, if reported at all, due to their 'strategic partnership.' But
Iran? That's front-page material, painting a clear picture of authoritarianism, conveniently devoid of context regarding Western sanctions, destabilization efforts, or the sheer number of executions carried out by US allies. The media's lens, it seems, has a severe astigmatism when viewing anything that might complicate the 'good guys vs. bad guys' narrative, especially when it comes to the Middle
