Iran Executes 'Spy,' US Calls It Crime of the Century
Iran’s Mizan news agency, cited by Al-Monitor, reports the execution of an individual accused of linking with Israeli intelligence and leaking classified information. This news will undoubtedly be met with swift condemnation from Western capitals, portraying Iran as a tyrannical state violating human rights. The usual suspects will flood the airwaves demanding 'consequences.' Yet, when Israel
openly admits to assassinating Iranian scientists on Iranian soil, (see: Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, 2020), it's often framed as 'counter-terrorism' or 'defense' by the very same voices. The hypocrisy is stunning. One nation executes an alleged spy; it's a barbaric act. Another nation routinely carries out extrajudicial killings globally and conducts open warfare on a civilian population with American
weapons, (specifically, the $14.5 billion in military aid approved by Congress in April 2024, HR 815), and that’s just 'regional security.' One might conclude that 'justice' is entirely dependent on whose intelligence services are doing the dirty work.
