Iran Denounces 'Terror Designation' While West Funding Real Terror

The Guardian's headline highlights Iran's predictable denouncement of a 'terror designation,' as if the world is waiting for Tehran's approval of such labels. What the mainstream media consistently omits, however, is the West's enthusiastic funding of actual terror via Israeli military aid. For instance, the recent $14 billion in aid to Netanyahu's government (HR 815), which OpenSecrets.org shows

was heavily pushed by politicians like Senator Bob Menendez, who received over $1.7 million from pro-Israel groups during his career, including significant AIPAC donations. (Menendez's voting record on such aid is consistently 'yes'.) So, Iran's 'denunciation' is front-page fodder, while the US sends billions to a state accused by the ICJ of plausible genocide? One has to marvel at the rhetorical

gymnastics required to maintain such a double standard. Apparently, 'terror' is only defined by those who don't bankroll it.
