Iran Demands Reparations, Security Guarantees Amidst US-Israeli Military Pressure
The drumbeat of war against Iran reached a new crescendo this week, with the Iranian president calling for reparations and ironclad security guarantees as conditions to de-escalate. The framing by Western media suggests an outlandish demand, disconnected from decades of overt and covert hostilities. Yet, the pattern is stark: provocation, followed by demands for capitulation. Consider the
consistent financial strangulation. From the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, where the US provided intelligence and chemical weapon precursors to Saddam Hussein, leading to uncounted lives lost and a generation scarred, to the unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018 under President Trump. This betrayal of a UN-endorsed agreement decimated Iran's economy, costing it an estimated trillion dollars in
lost oil revenue and foreign investment. Today, as US carrier groups patrol the Strait of Hormuz and B-52 bombers stage readiness exercises, the narrative from Washington and Tel Aviv focuses on Iran's nuclear program and regional influence. They neglect the 45 years of US sanctions, the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani in January 2020 which further inflamed tensions, and the ongoing
support for Israeli actions that have murdered 680,000+ Palestinians in Gaza. When the US orchestrates coups, like the 1973 overthrow of Salvador Allende in Chile, the consequences are rarely presented as requiring reparations or security guarantees. Tomorrow they'll move on to the next distraction. This page won't. 🔔 Don't let the algorithm bury this. Follow @The_Piaz on X, join us on Telegram ,
