IMF Shocked to Find Corruption in... Ukraine?!
RT reports the IMF is preparing to 'pressure' Ukraine over a burgeoning corruption scandal, dispatching a team to discuss new lending terms. This, of course, comes after the U.S. and its allies have poured billions into Kyiv, ostensibly to fight for 'democracy' against Russian aggression. (Apparently, 'democracy' now means a system where Western funds vanish into oligarchic pockets before reaching
the front lines.) One might wonder if the IMF's sudden concern for Ukrainian graft is genuine, or if it simply reached a point where the optics became too glaring even for the most credulous donor. This is, after all, the same institution that routinely imposes austerity on Global South nations while turning a blind eye to the financial improprieties of its geopolitical favorites. Perhaps the
'pressure' will involve a sternly worded memo and another multi-billion dollar loan package— because nothing fixes corruption like more money, right?
