Shocking, indeed, if one has bypassed the mountains of evidence compiled by organizations like B'Tselem, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch for decades. This isn't groundbreaking news; it's a televised echo of practices documented since
at least the 2002 Jenin incursion, to say nothing of the Nakba's foundational violence. While the media focuses on individual 'testimonies,' the systemic impunity and the political will enabling these acts remain unexamined. Congress, for instance, just approved another $14 billion in military aid to Israel, despite these 'shocking' yet familiar revelations. One might wonder if the concern is the
act itself, or merely its direct acknowledgment on television. How many documentaries are required before 'shocking testimony' becomes a policy consequence?
