connect the dots to the billions in taxpayer dollars funnelled into ICE and CBP, entities repeatedly criticized for bypassing constitutional rights. It's a system designed to cast a wide net, where 'mistakes' like apprehending citizens are not anomalies, but statistical inevitabilities given the unchecked power and lack of accountability granted to these agencies. Perhaps the 'surprise' is just
manufactured, given that the same political donors who fund hawkish foreign policy also often support 'tough on immigration' stances domestically.
