Newsweek reports ICE agents pinned and dragged a pregnant woman in Minneapolis, raising the usual manufactured outrage. This isn't a glitch, it's a feature. From the forced sterilizations at detention centers in Georgia (2020) to the family separations and outright medical neglect under the Trump and Biden administrations, ICE's brutality towards migrants, especially women and children, is
well-documented. Yet, each new atrocity is presented as an unfortunate 'incident' rather than systemic violence. We are consistently gaslit into believing these are mistakes, not policy outcomes. The sheer rhetorical gymnastics required to maintain this charade—that an agency built on terrorizing vulnerable populations is occasionally 'under fire' for doing precisely what it was designed to do—is
truly astounding. How many more pregnant women must be brutalized before we acknowledge this isn't a bug, but the entire operating system?
