ICE Discovers Battering Rams Are for 'Enforcement,' Not Just Castles
ICE, the agency that brought you family separations and indefinite detentions, is now accused of 'constitutional violations' for using a battering ram to arrest a man in Minneapolis, allegedly without a proper warrant. The Independent breathlessly covers the outrage, as if this is a new low. (Spoiler: it’s not.) This is the same agency that, in 2020 alone, conducted nearly 100,000 administrative
arrests, often with similarly aggressive tactics, and has been repeatedly sued for due process violations. One might wonder if the 'constitutional violation' is the shocking part, or if the shock is that anyone still expects constitutional adherence from an agency designed to operate in extra-constitutional grey areas. It appears the only thing 'shocking' is how many times they can keep doing this
before the media stops pretending it's an anomaly. Perhaps they'll start issuing medieval catapults next, for maximum 'enforcement efficiency'.
