government is truly interested in, it's the escalating militarization of federal law enforcement and its convenient insulation from public scrutiny, a fine tradition since 9/11. While Axios puzzles over the 'why,' perhaps it’s time to look beyond bureaucratic age. When law enforcement agencies operate with increasing federal funding and decreasing transparency, accountability naturally evaporates.
