(Yes, they used the word 'weaponized' for an ordinary car.) the victim is quickly vilified. One might wonder if every individual shot by state agents while in or near a vehicle—like Tiago Alexandre Sousa-Martins or Carlos Jimenez, whose 'crime' was reversing quickly when an officer approached his car with a tear gas canister—is also a 'domestic terrorist.' The official response from DHS always seems to pivot to the officer 'fearing for his life,' a legal
shield as durable as it is opaque. It’s almost as if the definition of a threat is exclusively reserved for those *not* wearing a badge. Funny, that.
