scientific data to inform Obamacare, they skip over how much of 'our' science policy is actually dictated by lobbying groups intent on keeping the military-industrial complex humming. U.S. representatives like Mike Rogers, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, who received over $200,000 from defense contractors in 2023 ( OpenSecrets ), are far more likely to scrutinize a community health
clinic's budget than an F-35 program. One might wonder whose 'science' truly prevails when it comes to national priorities: public health statistics or Raytheon's quarterly earnings?
