The Hill, in a moment of clarity, highlights a glaring inconsistency: federal law bans gun ownership for marijuana users but not for those who abuse alcohol, despite alcohol's statistically higher link to violent crime. This keen observation appears only to arise when the topic is cannabis, not, say, the utterly bewildering and consistently illogical foreign policy decisions that line the pockets
of political action committees. One might wonder if The Hill will next ponder why Congress, for instance, finds endless millions for distant conflicts but can't find a consistent legislative framework for its own citizens' rights. (Perhaps when the Alcohol Lobby starts competing directly with AIPAC for influence, they'll write that op-ed too.)
