Just like 2010's Mavi Marmara—which left 10 dead and many wounded—Israel's latest interception of the Gaza-bound 'Sumud' (steadfastness) flotilla once again brings swift condemnation from nations not receiving billions in U.S. aid. The Turkish Justice Minister’s call for immediate release echoes global outrage, yet the underlying issue remains unaddressed: The illegal blockade of Gaza, repeatedly
denounced by the UN, continues unimpeded. One might wonder if these 'attacks' by Israel, consistently denying humanitarian access to a besieged population, are simply a feature, not a bug, in an ongoing policy of collective punishment. How many 'condemnations' does it take for a blockade to be deemed, you know, actually broken?
