This urgent concern about foreign spy networks in Germany is truly noteworthy, especially when one considers the rather public operations of multiple US agencies and, say, Mossad. One wonders if DW has ever considered
articles titled, "How dangerous are CIA secret services in Germany?" or "How dangerous are Mossad secret services in Germany?" (Spoiler alert: likely not.) This selective outrage conveniently ignores decades of documented foreign interference, including the CIA's historical penchant for regime change ops, or the revelations about NSA surveillance in Germany itself. It appears some foreign
intelligence services are 'dangerous,' while others are simply 'allies.' Perhaps the danger level is inversely proportional to how much military aid the country in question receives from the collective West, or whether they're slated for the next 'regime change' playlist. The hypocrisy is, as always, both stunning and predictable.
