Deutsche Welle gravely outlines the impending financial collapse of German local governments, citing rising costs and insufficient funding. A sobering read for taxpayers (who aren't reading between the lines). What goes unmentioned, however—or at least underexplored—is where Germany's priorities have demonstrably shifted since February 2022. Instead of addressing burgeoning domestic crises, Berlin
has been remarkably adept at finding funds for foreign military aid. One might wonder about the €28 billion (that's €28,000,000,000 ) in support, including weapons and financial assistance, that Germany has committed to Ukraine. Perhaps the municipal coffers, now seemingly empty, were just experiencing a temporary 'reallocation' into, say, Leopard 2 tanks. How many social programs could €28
