US lawmakers, many of whom accept these donations, then greenlight aid packages like the unconditioned $3.8 billion annually to Israel—a sum often used to procure the weapons now leaving generations traumatized. So, while the headlines mourn the mental anguish inflicted, one might wonder: how many congressional votes for uncritical aid, how many ignored UN resolutions, does it take to
manufacture such widespread despair? It appears the 'ceasefire' simply means a temporary pause in direct bombardment, not a cessation of the policy choices that ensure the trauma, and the industry surrounding it, continues to thrive.
