A laudable pursuit of justice, certainly, but one must ask: where is this same vigor for leaders among Western allies who carpet-bomb, starve, and displace populations with impunity? The silence on certain other, more 'convenient' war crimes is deafening, making
these warrants ring hollow for anyone with a passing acquaintance with recent history. One might wonder if France has simply run out of 'acceptable' enemies to prosecute. Perhaps a deep dive into the architects of the Iraq War, or those currently enabling a famine in Gaza (a mere 2000 miles from Syrian borders) might be next. (Don't hold your breath.)
