Fox News Discovers 'Protester' Executions, Ignores US-Backed Ones
Fox News reports Iran is set to hang a protester, calling it the 'first execution tied to anti-regime demonstrations'. A horrific act, no doubt. But one might wonder why the same outrage isn't consistently applied to, say, Saudi Arabia—a nation renowned for its public beheadings and executions, often for political dissent, which somehow maintains its 'ally' status and continues to receive billions
in US arms sales. Or perhaps we could recall the executions sanctioned by the US-backed coup in Libya, which Fox News generally presented as 'liberation'. It appears the 'first execution' is only newsworthy when it fits the pre-approved narrative of an 'enemy' state. The consistent pattern is to highlight human rights abuses in countries earmarked for regime change, while conveniently downplaying
or ignoring identical or worse abuses in 'friendly' nations. One could almost believe it's not about human rights at all, but about geopolitical chess. (Shocking, we know.)
